Leads certainly help you sleep better at night. Connecting the right people to your business is a key component of your success, however before even thinking about increasing leads, we often encourage people to ensure that these things are in check: branding — website — conversion process — service process. Without trust in these areas, bringing people into your world is potentially going to do more harm than good. Remember that word of mouth has an underbelly, and you want it to be as positive as possible from start to finish. Having said that, once you are confident in these areas, leads will be king and you want to keep them rolling! So let’s talk about some free strategies to increase those email enquiries and phone calls.

One — Giveaway

A giveaway is one of the best free lead generators that we know, however there is an art and a process to getting the most of giveaways. The aim of the game is to ensure that you get emails. The giveaway is worth it if you have attracted people that you know love your product or service (because they wanted to win it), and then you can build a relationship from there. Thus far it has been 100% effective for our clients in bringing in work and adding significant value to their business. We are sometimes asked — if they are wanting a freebie won’t they not want to pay for the product or service? We have not found this to be true, quite the contrary. We have found that the organic growth of the giveaway simply aligned us to people that are already looking for our service, and the giveaway was simply a bonus if they were to win. Of course, only do a giveaway on the very blue moon — however make it a banger.

Two — Cross Referral

There are many businesses out there can help you as you help them. One example is we have recently reached out to social media companies, offering them a referral fee if they suggest Business Brother for their clients content creation, as we know that they often outsource photo and video creation for their clients. We have a contract to never take on these clients for our own social marketing, and we can even white label the content under their own business name if need be. We will return the favour for social media scheduling as we value consistent partnerships. This is a win-win and just one example of cross referral.

By supporting your network, educating and offering your secrets on a platter, you are actually establishing trust and proving that you know your stuff. Add value to peoples lives on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Facebook. Don’t try to sell directly and you may find that people start coming to you, and you start generating a great source of leads from people who already respect what you do.

Five — Free course, webinar, seminar

Free courses, webinars and / or seminars are a way to fill a room full of people that you know need what you offer. Charging for online or in-person events of course isn’t a bad idea, it creates a level of buy-in from the potential clients and we highly recommend it. However if your goal is volume, is to fill those courses as much as possible, then don’t be afraid to make it free, especially if it’s a live webinar. Ensure that this is genuinely helpful, and not just leading to an upsell. You will need to market this very well, be transparent and ensure that you will be solving a key problem for your potential clients.

There are also many paid strategies to increase leads. These are often effective methods, and do not need to replace organic marketing however work well alongside it.
